Raised in Bulgaria by physician parents, Dr. Ulrich developed an early appreciation for science, creativity, and diverse perspectives. Inspired by her own journey at the orthodontist when she was in high school, she found her passion in creating impactful, life-changing smiles for all ages.
Dr. Ioanna Ulrich is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for every patient. She treats patients beyond a “straighter smile”, guiding proper development in children and creating optimal outcomes for adults. Her goal is to create a welcoming, comfortable experience for every family, where they feel confident and cared for at every step. As a board certified orthodontist and mother, Dr. Ulrich values care that feels personal. Dr. Ulrich blends advanced technology with a warm, patient-centered approach, ensuring every patient feels understood and empowered throughout their smile journey.
Dr. Ulrich graduated dental school from the University of Florida at the top of her class and immediately after pursued a three-year specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Tennessee, one of the nation’s most prestigious programs. Dr. Ulrich is a diplomate of the American- Board of Orthodontics, which exemplifies a lifelong achievement to excellence in orthodontics.

Dr. Ulrich’s educational journey reflects her dedication to excellence and patient-centered care. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and a psychology minor from the University of Central Florida and graduated magna cum laude. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida, graduating at the top of her class with Cum Laude with High Research Honors During her time at UF, she was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, received the Pierre Fauchard Honorary Dental Student Award, and participated in dental service trips to remote regions of Las Matas, Dominican Republic. These experiences have shaped Dr. Ulrich to be able to provide the highest caliber of care
She continued her orthodontic specialty training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, one of the nation’s most respected orthodontic programs and it prides itself as the oldest program in the South, where only a select few residents are accepted each year. There, she earned her specialty certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics along with a Master of Dental Sciences degree, completing research in bone quality using three-dimensional imaging.
Today, Dr. Ulrich is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and Southern Society of Orthodontists (SSO), and she remains committed to using advanced technology and evidence-based techniques to create healthy, confident smiles.

Dr. Ulrich was proud to contribute to scientific discovery via her article on a rare finding in an orthodontic patient. This case study, “Mastoid osteoma: A rare incidental finding in an orthodontic patient,” proves how an orthodontic examination can benefit a patient through more than just a straighter smile. The finding was identified through 3D CBCT imaging, further demonstrating the value of advanced imaging in orthodontic care.

Outside the office, Dr. Ulrich’s family is her world! She loves being a sous chef alongside her high school sweetheart (turned husband) and playing with their young son. She is a cat lover, and owner to a beautiful big Ragdoll named Smokey. She often finds herself enjoying Florida beaches, spending time outdoors in her backyard, and watching basketball.

As a local mom, convenience is everything hence she wants to bring her elevated orthodontic skillset to the communities. As an orthodontic provider, she is continually inspired by the transformations she sees in her patients and by being a part of their stories.
