Hawley Retainers
Hawley retainers are made of either acrylic or metal. These are used in special circumstances, which can be discussed with Dr. Ulrich.
Fixed Retainers
Fixed retainers feature a small wire that is bonded behind the front teeth after orthodontic treatment. Not all patients are candidates for fixed retainers, but they may be included in a retention plan. However, fixed retainers don’t replace the need for an overlay Essix retainer.
